Welcome to Cosby Primary School!
On behalf of the governors and staff team, welcome to Cosby Primary School.
It is a privilege to serve as the Headteacher of such a welcoming and inclusive school community. From the moment you enter our school, you’ll feel the passion, teamwork, character, and high expectations that make Cosby so special. Our school is built on a foundation of respect and kindness, and we are dedicated to providing a rich and diverse education that not only delivers essential knowledge and skills but also fosters personal growth, creativity, and resilience in our pupils.
With many years of experience working with children across all areas of primary education, I am deeply committed to ensuring that every pupil is equipped with the skills, knowledge, and personal qualities they need to succeed at every stage of their educational journey. At Cosby, we believe that every child is unique and welcome, and that everyone should be empowered to fulfil their potential and excel in life in modern Britain.
Our dedicated team is focused on creating a supportive and nurturing environment where all students feel valued and inspired to achieve their best—working together for excellence. We take pride in our strong sense of community, where pupils, families, and staff come together as one team to help every child succeed.

Uniform Reminder
We kindly ask all families to revisit our uniform policy, which can be found here: . We’ve noticed increasing variation in how the policy is being followed, and we want to ensure consistency and fairness for all children, as well as a sense of belonging.
Uniform plays an important role in promoting a sense of belonging, pride and readiness for learning. When expectations aren’t followed, it can impact routines, safety and create unnecessary distractions.
Please support us by checking the policy and ensuring your child comes to school each day in the correct uniform. If you are unsure or need support with any aspect of uniform, do get in touch—we’re always happy to help and can provide support for uniform.
Please take a moment to read our new Attendance Handbook, which sets out the school’s aims and strategies for improving children's attendance. Our goal is to ensure the policy is applied consistently and clearly, with no uncertainty about the expectations or support available.
The handbook outlines the key processes involved, explains the benefits of good attendance for your child’s learning and wellbeing, and highlights the range of support we offer to families. We hope this provides clarity and reassurance as we work together to promote positive attendance habits for every pupil.
